The Ministry of Women & Child Development (WCD) on Friday ordered an inquiry into the alleged attempt to suicide by a woman telecaller working with the women helpline number 181.
WCD Minister Mr Sandeep Kumar has directed that the truth behind the incident be ascertained strict action be taken against the person/agencies responsible for the incident.
He has taken a serious note of the incident since the 181-helpline for women is crucial for registering complaints of sexual violence against women and providing counseling to affected women.
It has been alleged that the 25-year old woman telecaller allegedly attempted suicide accusing a helpline consultant of harassing her.
The inquiry will be conducted by Director Social Welfare and the report will be submitted to the minister within seven days.
