The Delhi Government and the Ministry of Finance of Government of NCT of Delhi has invited Finance Ministers of Six states/UTs for a meeting on taxes and their rationalization. The meeting would be held at the Delhi Secretariat on May 21, 2015.
The Finance Ministers of Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana would be present in the meeting, while Chandigarh would be represented by the adviser to the administrator of the Union territory.
The meeting has been called to discuss tax structure prevailing in the states and how it can be rationalized.
The representatives of the six states/UTs would be discussing taxes like Excise and VAT and how there can be a harmony in the said taxes across the states.
