Governance 2.0 begins!: Delhi Government approves formation of Mohallas for implementation of Swaraj budget

The cabinet approved the proposal for the formalization of the Mohalla definition.

It has been decided that four-five thousand voters will constitute a Mohalla. Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) will be the nodal officer for the formation and functioning of Mohallas.

As far as possible residents of similar socio-economic profiles will be part of the same Mohalla.

It is proposed to have a total number of around 30,000 Mohallas across Delhi for the implementation of the principle of spending Swaraj Fund strictly through the participation of the local people.

After the experiment of Swaraj Fund in 11 assembly constituencies, the cabinet has decided to implement it across all 70 constituencies as soon as possible.
