Env. Minister @ImraanHussaain reviews Delhi’s air quality to keep air pollution levels down

Mr. Imran Hussain, Minister of Environment & Forest, Govt. of NCT of Delhi called a meeting of officers of Department of Environment and DPCC. Secretary (Environment), Govt. of Delhi and Member Secretary (DPCC) attended the meeting.

The Minister reviewed the present Air quality status and implementation of the directions issued by the Courts in the recent past.

The concentration of different pollutants, specially, particulates and their trend along with the fog was discussed. The concentration of particulate matter is lower than the values observed in 2016 during the period between 1st January to 29th January 2017.

Mr. Hussain stressed upon the need for keeping surveillance and vigil by the concerned agencies in order to control Ambient Air Quality. The Minister also observed that since night temperature is going down, stress needs to be given to control the garbage and biomass burning. The trend of pollution level in last one month is shown in the graph given below:
