- Health Minister Mr Satyendar Jain releases figures of three schemes launched in 2017
- High end diagnostics, surgeries and treatment of victims of accidents, acid attacks and burn injuries are provided free of cost in Delhi hospitals
Following the directions of the Chief Minister Mr Arvind Kejriwal , the three ambitious schemes launched by the Delhi government to provide high-end diagnostics, surgeries and treatment of victims of road accidents, acid attacks and burn injuries, free of cost, have benefitted one lakh forty two thousand two hundred and two (1,42,202) people during last two and a half years, Health Minister Mr Satyendar Jain said on Friday.
These schemes were announced by the Chief Minister Mr Arvind Kejriwal in 2017, under the Delhi Arogya Kosh (DAK) with the aim to universalize free, efficient and quality healthcare for all.
It encompassed three schemes – free high-end diagnostic scheme, free surgery scheme, and cashless treatment to medico-legal victims of road accidents, acid attacks and thermal burn injuries.
Health Minister Mr Satyendar Jain said :“We want to provide free and quality healthcare to all, and are making avenues to reduce the burden on government hospitals while simultaneously ensuring timely treatment for patients. In the surgery scheme, it is up to the patient to decide amongst the empanelled private hospitals/ nursing homes because some might want to save out-of-pocket expenditure incurred on travel, while other may give more priority to the name of the hospital. Through the accident scheme, we are ensuring that no victim faces the threat of loss of life simply because a government hospital wasn’t close by.”
BREAK-UP IS AS FOLLOWS :
Launched in February 2017, free high-end diagnostics scheme enables patients, who are bonafide Delhi residents, to get referral from identified Delhi Government Hospitals and Polyclinics to empanelled private diagnostic centres, in case the former cannot provide the tests within 30 days.
