NEW DELHI: 30TH JUNE 2022
The BJP delegation failed to find shortcomings in the Kejriwal Model of Governance despite covering the length & breadth of Delhi for 2 days. The delegation was sent to fabricate and spread lies about the Kejriwal Model in Gujarat to shelve the anger brewing against their party’s failures. Deputy CM Shri Manish Sisodia, said “Gujarat BJP’s plan of “exposing” Delhi Model falls flat; delegation forced to return empty handed. Because of CM Arvind Kejriwal’s revolutionary work, education & healthcare have become a part of India’s political discourse. Proud of the transformation of Delhi’s education & healthcare system; BJP leaders failed to find a single flaw in our schools and Mohalla Clinics even after two days. BJP leaders failed to find shortcomings in Mohalla Clinics; to fulfill their master’s task, they were forced to conduct a photo-op in front of a clinic shut by the NGT.”
Deputy CM Shri Manish Sisodia confronted the BJP which flew in its leaders in the name of a delegation to inflict damage to the goodwill earned by the Kejriwal Government. However, every weapon in their arsenal proved to be a catastrophic failure. He said, “The Bharatiya Janata Party had recently flown a flock of its leaders from Gujarat to Delhi. These leaders were given a one of a kind task by the BJP top-brass. They were asked to go around Delhi and unnecessarily fabricate shortfalls in the government schools and hospitals of Delhi and pinpoint them to the media. They were sent with a clear agenda to malign the Kejriwal Model of Governance because it has created a sense of fear in the BJP bastion of Gujarat. To be honest, I was happy to see the delegation visit Delhi as it would create a sense of cooperative governance and they could learn something from us, at least in principle. We were gearing up to welcome them with enthusiasm. We belong to such a school of thought that believes that such delegations should visit each other all over the country and learn each other’s best practices. This will help them gain valuable lessons which will help them in improving governance in their state. Every state government should be open to accepting constructive feedback and criticism from these delegations as a general practice. This could have been a great start to such an exchange of knowledge.”
Shri Manish Sisodia emphasised the phenomenon of knowledge exchange, of which the AAP is a pioneer, picking momentum and it is driving the country into a new era of collective growth. He added, “Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kerjiwal and I have time and again said that when issues like Education and Healthcare, which truly concern an Aam Aadmi’s household become a part of the political discourse of India, no one will be able to stop this nation from progressing ahead. All political parties and governments should always be open to learning from other political parties and governments for the greater good of the society. AAP and its governments are leading this by example when it comes to following this practice. We happily welcome and host leaders across party lines in our state so that we can enlighten them with our journey of transformation and progress. At the same time, we very keenly take up suggestions from those coming to visit us.”
The Deputy CM exposed the hypocrisy of the BJP which instead of utilising a golden opportunity to improve its governance, fielded a bunch of leaders who have damaged the education system of Gujarat because of their ulterior motives. He continued, “The problem at this point is that BJP brought its delegation with a premeditated bias and an ill-motive. These people came down with a lens coloured with malice with a mission to start a slander campaign against the Kejriwal Model. Their motives were clear as day when they reached out to the media saying that their delegation was going to Delhi to ‘expose’ this model. This delegation included former ministers and MLAs surprisingly, many of whom were private school and college owners.”
Shri Manish Sisodia mocked the BJP for its gimmick which did not yield any fruit but only strengthened the belief of Kejriwal Government that they can handle any adversary because of its progessive and work-oriented mindset. He added, “The delegation stayed in Delhi for two days and toured the entire state with the local BJP MPs as their escorts. The MPs covered the length and breadth of Delhi in its sweltering heat, they went to every Mohalla they could but failed to find even a substandard or below-average school or Mohalla Clinic. Their aim was to mislead the people of Gujarat that schools and hospitals built under the Kejriwal Government are pitiful. But I am proud to boast that despite all their hate and malice for us, the BJP delegation and the MPs could not find a single shortcoming. They fell on their faces as they could not find any loopholes.”
Deputy CM Shri Manish Sisodia lauded the citizens for this courage to give a befitting reply to the BJP’s push to spread its fake propaganda in Delhi. He continued, “Wherever they went, the people of Delhi themself took the initiative to show them the schools & Mohalla Clinics. They proudly shared the story of Delhi’s revolution and asked the delegation if they could find any shortfall in infrastructural facilities or services provided there. Our doctors were ready and waiting to explain the working of the Mohalla Clinics but the delegation ran away. They had a hard time finding any fault so they morphed and fabricated photos to malign the government.”
Shri Manish Sisodia showed sympathy towards the absentmindedness of the BJP which deprived them of the wisdom to do proper homework. He said, “Next they went to the schools. The students of these schools are at home, having summer break these days. The delegation could see the modern infrastructure in use and more facilities getting constructed. They came empty handed from schools as well but turned a blind-eye to it. Out of desperation, they went to Northeast Delhi where they found a Mohalla Clinic and again strategically clicked photos in front of the clinic to sling dirt on the government. I feel pity for their ignorance that they did not bother to check that NGT had ordered the closure of that clinic.”
Deputy CM Shri Manish Sisodia reprimanded the BJP for stooping so low that they did not hesitate in going to any length to mislead the people. He added, “Then, a certain BJP MP with a track record of making a fool out of himself, took the delegation to another school in search of fulfilling this vicious motive but as his credibility is, he made a fool out of himself again. When they visited the school, they got to see that the infrastructure was excellent. But now they had to somehow project a false image. So these people found a storeroom where benches are kept from wall to wall. These leaders who are supposed to represent the public, tried to portray that the said storeroom was a classroom. And that the classes were being run from the storeroom. But, their false narrative did not last for long. When they came out of the storeroom, they were flustered seeing the excellent buildings of the school. They had no choice but to appreciate the work done to transform the classrooms and facilities provided in the schools even if they had to do it with a stone on their heart.”
Shri Manish Sisodia ridiculed the publicity stunt of BJP to shake the belief of the people in the Kejriwal Government which ended up in becoming a self-goal. He continued, “These people seemed to have a special expertise in running slander campaigns so they did not stop there and went on to involve the media. They wanted to spit venom in front of the public which was based on a false narrative through a grand press conference at 4pm. The motive of the press conference was to ‘expose’ the Kejriwal Model but since they could not get anything against us, they had no choice but to cancel the press conference.”
Shri Manish Sisodia reiterated the belief of AAP in the principle of knowledge exchange and took a higher ground to safeguard the same despite the BJP leaving no stone unturned to spread its false propaganda. He said, “AAP has been built for public welfare. We are ready to begin with a clean slate once again. We are still ready to welcome the Gujarat Delegation if they’re willing to pay a visit to our schools. We are also optimistic that when our delegation will visit Gujarat, the government and BJP members will welcome us equally cordially. They should also reciprocate the gesture of letting the visitors go to the schools or hospitals of their choice like we did.”
The Deputy CM advised the BJP to get rid of their shrewd mindset and open the avenues of learning from all directions. This mentality is having dire consequences on the people of Gujarat who are fed up with their maladministration. He concluded, “AAP is rising above petty politics to promote a welcoming change where delegations from various states visit other states to learn from each other. Many state delegations have visited us in the past and they went back with valuable lessons which can facilitate them in improving the quality of service they’re providing to the public of their state. We present a complete and honest picture in front of them. We not only tell them the achievements but also what were the shortfalls and what are the persisting challenges. But the BJP delegation came with a different motive. However, I am hopeful that they must have learnt something new from their visit to several Mohalla Clinics and Schools. There is some time before our delegation sets sail for its Gujarat visit but the people of Gujarat have already started sending us the photographs depicting the pitiable condition of schools and hospitals there. Hope that this visit will set in motion a much needed reform in the governance in Gujarat.”
