Delhi Government’s Deshbhakti Curriculum completed one year today. The curriculum was launched last year on the birth anniversary of Amar Shaheed Bhagat Singh by CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal. Talking about the curriculum today, the CM said, “Inculcating the India First mindset in students is the primary objective of the Deshbhakti Curriculum.” The world witnessed celebrations galore all across Delhi as the Deshbhakti curriculum turned one. The Delhi Government in specific held a special gala at the Thyagraj Stadium to mark the occasion. The full-house event was attended by students and teachers of Delhi Government Schools besides dignitaries and the team behind the curriculum. A special interactive session was held as part of the event where students and teachers shared their learnings with Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal and Deputy CM Shri Manish Sisodia.
On the occasion, CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal said, “Deshbhakti Curriculum’s three main objectives: India First, recognising the sacrifice of freedom fighters and understanding responsibilities of a good citizen. This is also the time for evaluation of the Deshbhakti Curriculum for further enhancement and implementation. We have started three groundbreaking curriculums in Delhi Government Schools in the past few years: Happiness curriculum, Entrepreneurship curriculum and Deshbhakti curriculum have been widely loved by children. At the same time, Deputy CM Shri Manish Sisodia said, “Deshbhakti curriculum not only transformed the students but teachers as well; earlier they used to see them as students, now they see a deshbhakt in them. Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal said, “We started ‘deshbhakti curriculum’ exactly one year ago today. We have been brainstorming this idea in our minds for many years. There was a strong feeling that our students are being taught physics, chemistry and biology. But when it comes to the country, though they are being taught geography, we could not spark the spirit of patriotism in them. After so many years, I can barely recall the concept or theorem of Biology, physics or chemistry. I do not remember trigonometry either but what all is being taught to the students in deshbhakti classes, that spirit, that spark will always remain ignited in them.”
He continued, “Then another thought came to our minds: if deshbhakti can be taught? Consider an illiterate person who has never been to school, even they are deshbhakts. Nobody taught this to them but they also love the motherland. Is there a need to teach deshbhakti? All we need is to strengthen the spirit of deshbhakti and help every student in channelising it into the right direction. We have three objectives with this curriculum. Firstly, the students should have the feeling of ‘India first’ at all points of time. There are several instances where our self-interest is in conflict with the nation’s interest. If we act in self-interest, we will cause a loss to the country. We should work for the nation selflessly. There can also be moments of my family’s interest, be it my parents or children, conflicting with the nation’s interest and we have to keep the nation’s interest above it by completely sidelining it. Other interests should be secondary in front of national interest.”
Shri Arvind Kejriwal said, “Secondly, we realised that we are forgetting our freedom fighters and our freedom struggle. A short while ago, a girl took names of 100 freedom fighters one after the other and that is our goal. We have forgotten how we got independence. We forgot the sacrifices of so many peoples and the atrocities they suffered. So many fighters were sent to Kalapaani, they were lashed and many were hanged. They devoted their entire lives for our independence. Through this curriculum, we teach them about their lives and ensure that they remember them forever. It should remain in their conscience and they could have living experience of the same. This should stop them from indulging in any work deed.”
“Thirdly, we ensure that students understand their civic responsibilities. They should be conscious that they are not littering garbage or breaking traffic rules or any other law. Deshbhakti has many facets. Students told me that earlier they used to think that those who fight at the border are deshbhakts but after this curriculum, they got to know that cleanliness is also a form of deshbhakti. Saving lives is also deshbhakti, if a doctor treats 10 poor patients for free, then it is also deshbhakti. Living life the right way, having a positive attitude towards people, doing the right honestly is deshbhakti in the truest sense in today’s time,” he continued.
He added, “Deshbhakti curriculum is not a course of rott learning where the students have to mug up a textbook, they will have to appear in an exam and they will be given marks. Nothing of that sort. I am happy that we have converted deshbhakti classes into a living experience. Only one year has passed since we brought this experience and I was happy to see the enthusiasm with which the students and teachers shared their experience. A student told that earlier his mother stopped him from talking to children belonging to other castes. Now, the student, his mother and their environment have changed at once with these classes. It was such a powerful message and I believe that if we could run deshbhakti classes across the country, we might put an end to casteism in the country.”
The Delhi CM said, “And it is not the case that this lesson was taught with brute force or violence. The experience emerged from the intellect and it is highly sustainable & perennial. They will always remember that casteism is wrong and all humans are equal. Another student said that all the professions are noble, be it a cleaner, doctor or engineer. I completely agree and we should respect all professions equally. Poor people should also be seen from the lens of equality and dignity. Students are already feeling proud about the fact that they are also deshbhakts and this thought did not come across our minds a year ago or if there is a need to be a deshbhakt. A teacher told that his students said that his Tiranga will feel sad if he does anything wrong.”
He continued, “This is also a time of introspection. I believe that for the first time, such types of classes are being held anywhere in the country. We will also evaluate how we can improve the curriculum further by inculcating more aspects and modifying the existing ones. We started three courses in the past few years in Delhi Government schools: Happiness classes, entrepreneurship classes and deshbhakti classes. Happiness classes help students in becoming good and calm individuals. Deshbhakti classes help them in becoming good and responsible citizens. Entrepreneurship classes help them in ensuring that they can stand on their own feet. These courses were run on an experimental basis for the first time in the country.”
Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal concluded, “I am certain that their success will spread across the globe. We have already kickstarted the process and they will keep on emerging in newer forms. It is because the intentions behind running these curricula are very pure and their development has seen a steady growth. Teachers present here who are nodal teachers of deshbhakti classes are requested to inculcate the thought of making India no. 1 in every student. India can become no 1. Neither politicians nor parties can make India no. 1, 130 crore Indians can. We have to prepare people to stand together for the country. The day they start doing their work with this feeling, nothing can stop India from becoming no. 1. Every child passing out from schools of Delhi Government should have the spirit of making India no. 1. We are proud of the efforts of our teachers. There cannot be a better gift to Shaheed-e-Azam Sardar Bhagat Singh that we are having a discussion on the deshbhakti curriculum on his birth anniversary.”
Deputy Chief Minister Shri Manish Sisodia said, “Today we are celebrating the 115th birth anniversary of Shaheed Bhagat Singh. People across the nation are celebrating the anniversary of this great revolutionary by paying tributes to him in their own ways. We are doing that by celebrating the one year anniversary of our “Deshbhakti Curriculum”. Last year, on the same day we launched the “Deshbhakti Curriculum” in our Delhi government schools to instil the spirit of patriotism and nationhood among every child.”
He added that, two years ago, Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal said that now that the buildings of our schools are good, we are able to provide the world-class educational facilities to all the children in Delhi government schools, teachers are being trained at national and international level for their professional enrichment, the academic results have improved from 80% pass percentage to 99%, we have introduced the curriculums like Happiness and Entrepreneurship Mindset Curriculum, and the students are cracking NEET/JEE with good ranks, it is time for us to ensure that every child coming out the Delhi Government schools should become a staunch patriot.
“Following CM’s directions, the teams were formed by the Directorate of Education and SCERT Delhi. Teachers, principals and curriculum experts did their research and soon the Deshbhakti Curriculum was launched on September 28, 2021. When CM had first announced the Deshbhakti Curriculum for Delhi government schools in 2019, we had faced much criticism. People said that schools are for teaching science, maths, grammar, and patriotism can be taught by society. Whenever someone opposes and says that “the particular work is not possible” to CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal, he comes back and says that “everything is possible” and today we have proved that,” said Shri Manish Sisodia.
Shri Manish Sisodia added that the curriculum was prepared by the teachers and experts soon after the announcement, implemented in schools and today it has been completed a year too. He said, “The experiences of the curriculum shared by the students and teachers here today prove that CM’s vision has turned into reality. Teachers and principals have proved that if schools take the responsibility of instilling the spirit of patriotism in students, no one can stop any child from being a staunch patriot.”
The Deputy Chief Minister said that our children remember the freedom fighters with the utmost respect and keep them close to their hearts. “So, they are true patriots. If a sanitation worker does his duty with dedication, he/she is a true patriot. If a security guard is taking care of the school with dedication, then he is a true patriot. Everyone in the country who does his/her duties with dedication and hardwork is a true patriot and students must learn various aspects of patriotism from everyone in their surroundings.”
Shri Manish Sisodia said, “Deshbhakti Curriculum is bringing very positive changes in the mindset of students as well as teachers. During my visit to schools, teachers told me that earlier they used to treat children at schools as students only, as a child of other parents, but now this has changed and they are seeing a staunch patriot in each one of them”.
He added that a few days ago he visited a school in Palam constituency and interacted with students to know their experiences of Deshbhakti Curriculum. “A student from class 7 said that “Deshbhakti Dhyan” has not only helped inculcate the spirit of patriotism in them but has also cleared all the negative thoughts from their mind. The Deshbhakti Curriculum has this power that it can wipe away all the negative thoughts from the mind which are being imposed by society. Delhi government’s Deshbhakti curriculum will take this responsibility of clearing the negative and destructive thoughts from the minds of children.”
The Deputy Chief Minister concluded that during his visit to schools, he had asked the students of classes 11 and 12 whether the government should stop or continue with the Deshbhakti Classes for them, as it is a crucial time for them to prepare for exams and competitions. But it is a matter of great pride that students said “no”. They said that they want to continue with the Deshbhakti curriculum classes as it is helping them understand their country better and making them more focused on their goals. They are able to understand how their goals or careers will impact the country in the future. They want to continue with the Deshbhakti classes so that they can analyse how their career can be used for nation-building.
*Experience shared by students and teachers*
1. Vanshika, a student of class 10, said that I had a friend who belonged to a different caste. My parents did not allow me to talk to her and I thought that they were right. I stopped talking to him for a while. But when my teacher explained that casteism is a bad practice, I thought how can I be a patriot if I also follow this I shouldn’t do that. When I talked to my mother again, she did not listen initially. Then I told her why we believe in casteism when God made us alike. We should live in harmony with each other and treat them equally.
2. Student Tanisha Sharma said that we used to hear about the word deshbhakti but we never understood what it meant. But now we have come to know the true meaning of deshbhakti. We used to think that deshbhakti means holding a protest in college but now we have come to know that we can be a deshbhakt only by working for the betterment of society. If we keep our house and country clean and not litter garbage, we are deshbhakts already.
3. Student Shivani said that when the deshbhakti curriculum started, I did not know at all what deshbhakti was. When our teacher told us what deshbhakti is, then I got to know that I too am a deshbhakt, because I too have all those qualities which are in a deshbhakt. I keep the area around me clean and respect my elders. We have written names of 100 freedom fighters in my deshbhakti diary and I remember all those 100 names.
4. Student Vishal says that deshbhakti means to sacrifice and surrender yourself for the country. He explained the meaning of deshbhakti by reciting a poem by Shaheed Bhagat Singh that “Seene me jo jakhm diya hai, woh sab Phool ke guchche hai, Hume Pagal hi rehne do, hum Pagal hi achche hai.”
5. Neetu Gulati, the nodal in-charge of SKV Shankar Nagar class 9th to 12th, said that this curriculum has quite a very positive impact. We have developed a sense of respect in our students. They have become very responsible. A lot has changed even in young children. A girl had made Tiranga. When I asked her if I could see, the girl asked me to hold the Tiranga carefully, it should not fall. It is the pride of our country.
*First Anniversary Of Deshbhakti Curriculum In Delhi Govt Schools*
Deshbhakti curriculum was launched by Chief Minister of Delhi Shri Arvind Kejriwal on 28th September 2021- marking the birth anniversary of Shaheed Bhagat Singh
Deshbhakti Curriculum was developed by SCERT Delhi. It is being implemented in all schools of Delhi Government and some private schools from classes Nursery to 12.
Through this curriculum, our students get an opportunity to reflect upon their thoughts and behaviour and what would make them a responsible citizen committed to nation building.
To celebrate the first anniversary of the launch of Deshbhakti curriculum and consolidate the learnings of the last one year, a series of activities were conducted in schools over the last fortnight.
The final event was organised at Thyagraj Stadium.
*About the curriculum*
It is divided into 4 cohorts – KG-2, 3-5, 6-8 and 9-12
Implemented in all 1047 Delhi Government schools, impacts 18 Lakh students
Nearly 36,000 teachers take Deshbhakti classes
It runs daily in Grades KG-8 and twice a week in Grades 9-12.
All schools have assigned Nodal teachers (coordinators) per cohort KG-5, 6-8 and 9- 12.
Nodal Teachers have received a cumulative of 65 hours of training by SCERT from launch until now.
Curriculum is facilitator driven, for which Teacher Manuals are provided for each cohort.
There are no student textbooks. Only a collection of 100 stories of freedom fighters.
It is activity and discussion-based where at the end of each lesson students reflect and introspect on their learning.
Students of Grades 6-12 maintain a Deshbhakti Diary where they note their reflections.
Each class begins with a Deshbhakti Dhyaan where mindfulness targeted towards remembering any 5 deshbhakts and expressing gratitude towards them for their service happens.
Content includes themes around exploring love and respect for the country, understanding patriotism, identifying strengths and challenges of India.
As a mindset curriculum – focus is on self-reflection and generating awareness to one’s own behaviour. This differs from traditional social-sciences which focuses on knowledge giving or moral sciences classes that preach values.

दिल्ली सरकार द्वारा त्यागराज स्टेडियम में देशभक्ति करिकुलम की पहली वर्षगांठ बड़ी धूमधाम के साथ मनाई गई। इस दौरान छात्रों और शिक्षकों ने अपने अनुभव साझा किए। सीएम अरविंद केजरीवाल ने कहा कि बच्चों के अंदर हमेशा इंडिया फर्स्ट का भाव पैदा करना ही देशभक्ति करिकुलम का मकसद है। इस करिकुलम के तीन उद्देश्य हमेशा इंडिया फर्स्ट, स्वतंत्रता सेनानियों को याद रखना और अपनी नागरिक जिम्मेदारियों को समझना हैं। पिछले कुछ वर्षों में हमने सरकारी स्कूलों में तीन नए कोर्सेस हैप्पीनेस, आंत्रप्रिन्योरशिप और देशभक्ति क्लासेज शुरू किए। हैप्पीनेस क्लास में बच्चों को अच्छा इंसान और देशभक्ति क्लासेज में अच्छा नागरिक बनना सिखाया जाता है, जबकि आंत्रप्रिन्योरशिप क्लासेज में बच्चों को कम से कम अपना पेट पालने लायक बनना सिखाया जाता है। मुूझे लगता है कि पूरी दुनिया में ये तीनों कोर्स पहली बार दिल्ली में प्रयोग किए जा रहे हैं और एक दिन यहां से निकल कर ये कोर्स पूरी दुनिया में फैलेंगे। सीएम अरविंद केजरीवाल ने कहा कि सभी शिक्षक हर बच्चे में भारत को नंबर वन बनाने का विचार अवश्य भरें, ताकि हर बच्चा इस भाव के साथ स्कूल से निकले कि मुझे भारत को नंबर बनाना है। अगर 130 करोड़ लोग भारत को नंबर वन बनाने के भाव के साथ काम करने लग गए, तो भारत को नंबर वन बनने से कोई नहीं रोक सकता।
दिल्ली सरकार द्वारा आज त्यागराज स्टेमियम में देशभक्ति करिकुलम के एक साल पूरे होने के अवसर पर पहली वर्षगांठ बड़ी धूमधाम के साथ मनाई गई। प्रोग्राम की शुरुआत करीब चार बजे स्कूली बच्चों के बैंड के परफॉर्म साथ हुई। कार्यक्रम के मुख्य अतिथि मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल, उपमुख्यमंत्री एवं शिक्षा मंत्री मनीष सिसोदिया समेत अन्य गणमान्यों के साथ दीप प्रज्वलित कर प्रोग्राम की औपचारिक शुरुआत की। इसके बाद देशभक्ति कोर टीम की सदस्य संगीता शर्मा ने शहीद-ए-आजम भगत सिंह समेत अन्य देशभक्तों के बारे में देशभक्ति ध्यान कराया और शिक्षा विभाग की एडिशनल डायरेक्टर डॉ. रीता शर्मा ने देशभक्ति करिकुलम को लेकर अपने अनुभवों को साझा किया। इस अवसर पर शिक्षा निदेशक हिमांशु गुप्ता, एससीईआरटी के निदेशक रजनीश कुमार समेत शिक्षा विभाग के वरिष्ठ अधिकारी उपस्थित रहे।

इस अवसर पर सीएम अरविंद केजरीवाल ने कहा कि एक साल पहले आज ही के दिन हम लोगों ने देशभक्ति करिकुलम को शुरू किया था। इसको लेकर कई साल से हमारे दिमाग में विचार चल रहा था। मन में एक भाव था कि स्कूलों में हम फिजिक्स, केमिस्ट्री, बॉयोलॉजी और भूगोल पढ़ाते हैं, लेकिन हम स्कूल में बच्चों के अंदर देश के प्रति वो जज्बा पैदा नहीं करते हैं। इतने सालों के बाद मुझे फिजिक्स, केमिस्ट्री, बॉयोलॉजी, ट्रिग्नामेट्री याद नहीं है, लेकिन आज स्कूलों में देशभक्ति क्लासेज के अंदर जो पढ़ाया जा रहा है, वो भाव बच्चों के अंदर जिन्दगी भर रहने वाली है। इसीलिए मेरे में एक भाव था कि ऐसा क्यों हैं कि हम अपने बच्चों को देशभक्ति नहीं सीखाते हैं। फिर एक भाव आया कि क्या देशभक्ति सिखाई जा सकती है। जो व्यक्ति पूरी तरह अनपढ़ है और कभी स्कूल नहीं गया है, वो भी देशभक्त होता है। तो फिर स्कूल में क्या पढ़ाना है। क्या उसी देशभक्ति के जज्बे को हर बच्चे के अंदर और गहरा करना है और एक दिशा देनी है। हमारे देशभक्ति करिकुलम के तीन मकसद हैं। पहला, बच्चे के अंदर हर क्षण इंडिया फर्स्ट का भाव होना चाहिए। हम देखते हैं, जब कई बार ऐसे मौके आते हैं कि कोई मुद्दा है, जिस पर मेरा खुद का हित है, जो देश के हित के साथ टकराव कर रहा है। अगर मैं स्वार्थी हूं, तो देश का नुकसान हो रहा है। इसमें हमें अपना स्वार्थ छोड़कर देश के लिए काम करना है। कई क्षण आते हैं, जब मेरे परिवार, मेरे बच्चों, मेरे माता-पिता का हित है, लेकिन वो देश के हित के साथ टकराव कर रहा है। उसमें हमें अपने परिवार के हित को छोड़कर अपने देश के लिए काम करना है। हर बच्चे के अंदर यह भाव पैदा करना है कि कभी भी कुछ भी हो, लेकिन हमेशा भारत माता को आगे रखना है। बाकी सारे हित बाद में होने चाहिए।
*लोगों के प्रति इंसानियत दिखाना, सही और ईमानदारी से काम करना भी देशभक्ति ही है- अरविंद केजरीवाल*
सीएम अरविंद केजरीवाल ने करिकुलम का दूसरा उद्देश्य बताते हुए कहा कि कहीं न कहीं हम सारे लोग अपने स्वतंत्रता सेनानियों को भूल गए। हम लोग अपने स्वतंत्रता संग्राम को भूल गए। हम लोग भूल गए कि हमें आजादी कैसे मिली थी। हम लोग भूल गए कि कितने लोगों ने यातनाएं सही थी और कितने लोगों ने अपनी कुर्बानी दी थी। कितने लोग काला पानी गए थे, कितनों को कोड़े मारे गए थे और कितने लोग फांसी पर चढ़ गए थे। ऐसे सभी स्वतंत्रता सेनानियों को याद दिलाना और हमेशा दिमाग में याद रहें, इस करिकुलम का दूसरा उद्देश्य है। जब कभी भी वो कोई गलत काम करेगा, तो सोचेगा कि भगत सिंह ने इसीलिए अपनी कुर्बानी दी थी। मैं गलत काम कर रहा हूं। मुझे यह नहीं करना चाहिए। तीसरा उद्देश्य अपनी नागरिक जिम्मेदारियों को समझना है। हर वक्त ख्याल रखना चाहिए कि कहीं मैं गलत जगह कचरा तो नहीं फेंक रहा हूं, ट्रैफिक नियमों का तो पालन रह रहा हूं, मैं कोई कानून तो नहीं तोड़ रहा हूं। यही तो देशभक्ति है। सिर्फ बॉर्डर पर जाकर लड़ाई करना ही देशभक्ति नहीं है। आज की तारीख में जिंदगी में लोगों के प्रति इंसानियत दिखाना, सही और ईमानदारी से काम करना भी देशभक्ति ही है। मुझे बहुत खुशी है कि हमने देशभक्ति करिकुलम को एक अनुभव के रूप में बदला है। बच्चों को यह अहसास कराया जा रहा है। अभी इसे लागू हुए एक साल ही हुआ है और शिक्षक व बच्चे अपने अनुभव बताने के लिए काफी उत्साहित दिखे।
*सभी काम अच्छे हैं और हमें सबकी इज्जत करनी चाहिए, एक गरीब व्यक्ति को भी बराबरी की नजर से देखना चाहिए- अरविंद केजरीवाल*
सीएम अरविंद केजरीवाल ने छात्रा वंशिका के साझा किए गए अनुभवों पर कहा कि छात्रा ने बताया कि मेरी मां मुझसे कहती थी कि दूसरी जाति के बच्चे से बात नहीं करनी है। देशभक्ति करिकुलम से वो बच्चा भी बदला, मां भी बदली और आसपास का वातावरण भी बदला। यह बहुत ही ताकतवर संदेश था। मुझे लगता है कि अगर देशभक्ति करिकुलम को पूरे देश में लागू कर दिया जाए, तो हमारे देश से यह जाति-पात ही खत्म हो जाएगी। इसमें किसी ने किसी को मारा नहीं, किसी पर दबाव नहीं बनाया, बल्कि यह अहसास अंदर से निकल कर आया। जो अहसास अंदर से निकल कर आता है, तो स्थाई होता है। अब उस बच्ची और उसकी मां के लिए यह अहसास अब हमेशा के लिए रहेगा कि जाति-पात गलत बात है। कोई जाति-पात नहीं है। सब बराबर हैं। सब एक जैसे इंसान हैं। एक अन्य बच्चे के साझा किए गए अनुभवों पर सीएम ने कहा कि सभी काम अच्छे होते हैं। चाहे कोई झाड़ू लगाता है, वो काम भी अच्छा होता है। कोई डॉक्टर, इंजीनियर काम करता है, तो वो भी अच्छा है। सारे काम अच्छे हैं और हमको आपस में सबके काम की इज्जत करनी चाहिए। अगर कोई गरीब है, तो हमें उसको बराबरी की नजर से देखना चाहिए। हमें ये नहीं देखना चाहिए कि वो हमसे छोटा है। उसका भी सम्मान करना चाहिए। एक अन्य बच्चे के साझा अनुभवों पर सीएम अरविंद केजरीवाल ने कहा कि एक बच्चे बताया कि आज मुझे गर्व होता है कि मैं देशभक्त हूं। एक साल पहले तक मैं यह सोचता भी नहीं था कि मैं देशभक्त हूं या नहीं हूं। देशभक्त होने की जरूरत भी है या नहीं है। लेकिन आज हमें अपने अंदर गर्व महसूस हो रहा है कि मैं देशभक्त हूं। यह बहुत बड़ी बात है। सभी बच्चों को गर्व महसूस होना चाहिए।
*हैप्पीनेस, देशभक्ति और आंत्रप्रिन्योरशिप क्लासेज की शुरूआत दिल्ली ने की है, लेकिन आने वाले दिनों में ये कोर्स पूरी दुनिया में फैलेंगे- अरविंद केजरीवाल*
सीएम अरविंद केजरीवाल ने कहा कि यह समय मूल्यांकन करने का भी है। मुझे लगता है कि देश में पहली बार कहीं भी इस तरह की देशभक्ति की क्लासेज की शुरूआत की गई है। हम कौन सी और चीजें हैं, जो हम सीख सकते हैं और इसको और अच्छा बना कसते हैं। कौन की चीजें हैं, जिसे हम बदल सकते हैं। इसका हमें मूल्यांकन करके इस कोर्स को और अच्छा व शानदार बनाना चाहिए, ताकि यह और बेहतर होता रहे। हमने पिछले कुछ वर्षों में दिल्ली के स्कूलों में हैप्पीनेस क्लासेज, आंत्रप्रिन्योरशिप क्लासेज और देशभक्ति क्लासेज, यह तीन कोर्सेस शुरू किए हैं। हैप्पीनेस क्लासेज बच्चे को अपने आप से शांत रहने और अच्छा इंसान बनाने के लिए शुरू किया गया। देशभक्ति क्लासेस बच्चों को अच्छा नागरिक बनाने के लिए शुरू किया गया। आंत्रप्रिन्योरशिप क्लासेज की शुरूआत इसलिए की गई, ताकि बच्चा जब पढ़ कर स्कूल से बाहर निकले तो कम से कम वो अपना पेट पालने के लायक बने। यह तीनों कोर्स पहली बार देश में प्रयोग किए जा रहे हैं। मुूझे लगता है कि पूरी दुनिया के अंदर यह तीनों कोर्स पहली बार प्रयोग किए जा रहे हैं। मुझे लगता है कि यह कोर्स यहां से निकल कर एक दिन पूरी दुनिया में फैलेंगे। शुरूआत हमने की है, लेकिन आने वाले दिनों में यह तीनों कोर्स पूरी दुनिया में फैलेंगे और इसके नए-नए रूप निकल कर आएंगे। तीनों कोर्सेज के पीछे बहुत अच्छे विचार हैं।
*भारत को नंबर केवल नेता और पार्टियां नहीं बना सकतीं, भारत को नंबर वन वहां के 130 करोड़ लोग मिलकर बनाएंगे – अरविंद केजरीवाल*
सीएम अरविंद केजरीवाल ने देशभक्ति क्लासेज के नोडल शिक्षकों से निवेदन करते हुए कहा कि जब आप क्लास में बच्चों को देशभक्ति सीखा रहे हैं, उस दौरान हर बच्चे के अंदर एक विचार जरूरत भरने की कोशिश कीजिए कि हमें भारत को नंबर वन बनाना है और भारत नंबर वन बन सकता है। भारत को नंबर केवल नेता और पार्टियां नहीं बना सकतीं, भारत को नंबर वन वहां के 130 करोड़ लोग मिलकर बनाएंगे। हमें इंडिया को नंबर वन बनाने के लिए देश के लिए 130 करोड़ लोगों को तैयार करना है। जिस दिन सारे 130 करोड़ लोग तैयार हो गए और इंडिया को नंबर वन बनाने के भाव के साथ काम करने लग गए, तो इंडिया को नंबर वन बनने से कोई नहीं रोक सकता। दिल्ली के सरकारी स्कूलों से जो भी बच्चा बाहर निकले, तो वो इस भाव के साथ निकले कि मेरी जिंदगी का एक ही मकसद है कि मुझे इंडिया को नंबर बनाना है। हमारे शिक्षक बहुत ही शानदार काम कर रहे हैं और हमें आप सभी पर बहुत गर्व है। मैं समझता हूं कि शहीद-ए-आजम भगत सिंह को श्रद्धांजलि देने का इससे ज्यादा अच्छा तरीका और नहीं हो सकता कि उनके जन्म दिवस पर हम देशभक्ति क्लासेज के उपर चर्चा कर रहे हैं।
*मात्र एक साल के अंदर ही देशभक्ति पाठ्यक्रम से बच्चों में सकरात्मक बदलाव देखने को मिल रहा है- मनीष सिसोदिया*
इस अवसर पर उपमुख्यमंत्री मनीष सिसोदिया ने कहा कि पिछले साल आज ही के दिन शहीद-ए-आजम भगत सिंह जी के जन्मदिन पर हमने दिल्ली सरकार के स्कूलों में देशभक्ति पाठ्यक्रम की शुरुआत की थी और आज मात्र एक साल के अंदर देशभक्ति पाठ्यक्रम से बच्चों में सकरात्मक बदलाव देखने को मिल रहा है। उन्होंने कहा कि जब मुख्यमंत्री जी के नेतृत्त्व में दिल्ली सरकार ने बच्चों के बेहतर भविष्य के लिए शानदार क्लास रूम -स्कूल बिल्डिंग बनवाए, शिक्षको को आईआईएम व फ़िनलैंड जैसे जगह पर ट्रेनिंग दिया और इसका सकारात्मक परिणाम यह आया कि आज मुख्यमंत्री जी के मार्गदर्शन में दिल्ली के सरकार के स्कूलों के बच्चों का रिजल्ट शत प्रतिशत आने लगा है। आज दिल्ली सरकार के स्कूलों का वातावरण शानदार हो गया है। हमारे स्कूल बच्चे नीट व जेईई जैसे एग्जाम पास कर रहे है। हमने बच्चों को बेहतर व ख़ुश इंसान बनाने के लिए हैप्पीनेस माइंडसेट करिकुलम की शुरुआत की, बच्चे जॉब सीकर न बने जॉब प्रोवाइडर बने इसके लिए आंत्रप्रिन्योरशिप माइंडसेट करिकुलम की शुरुआत की। इसके बाद मुख्यमंत्री जी ने विज़न दिया कि हमारे स्कूलों में पढ़ने वाले बच्चों को अच्छी शिक्षा देने के साथ कट्टर देशभक्त भी बनाया जाए। इस विज़न को पूरा करने के लिए हमने देशभक्ति पाठ्यक्रम की शुरुआत की।

डिप्टी सीएम मनीष सिसोदिया ने कहा कि जब हम इस पाठ्यक्रम को लागू करने की योजना बना रहे थे, तब बहुत जगह से नेगेटिव कमेंट्स आ रहे थे कि क्या सच में देशभक्ति पाठ्यक्रम को स्कूल में पढ़ाया जा सकता है? स्कूल में तो साइंस, लैंग्वेज, गणित की पढ़ाई के लिए होते है। लेकिन हमलोगों ने यह ठान लिया था कि हम न केवल देशभक्ति पाठ्यक्रम को लागू करेंगे, बल्कि इसे सफल भी बनाएंगे। आज देशभक्ति पाठ्यक्रम के एक साल पूरे हो गए हैं और जब हमने यहां बैठे बच्चों और टीचर्स के अनुभवों के बारे में सुना तो लगा कि जिस विज़न पर के साथ हमने देशभक्ति पाठ्यक्रम की शुरुआत की है, वो सफल होते दिख रहा है। जब स्कूल ठान ले और गारंटी ले तो देश का हरेक बच्चा कट्टर देशभक्त बन सकता है। उन्होंने कहा कि देशभक्ति पाठ्यक्रम से एक बहुत ही सकारात्मक परिणाम देखने को मिल रहे है कि जहां एक तरफ हमारे बच्चे स्वतंत्रता सेनानियों के बारे में सिख रहे है और उनके योगदान को याद कर रहे हैं, वहीं दूसरी तरफ उनके मन में यह भाव पैदा हो रहा है कि हर इन्सान देशभक्त हैं, जो खुद से पहले इस देश के तरक्की के बारे में सोचते हैं। चाहे वो सफाई कर्मचारी हो या स्कूल के सिक्योरिटी गार्ड ही क्यों न हो। उन्होंने कहा कि इससे शिक्षकों के व्यवहार में भी बदलाव आया है। पहले शिक्षकों को बच्चों के अंदर एक सिर्फ एक स्टूडेंट दिखता था, लेकिन देशभक्ति पाठ्यक्रम से उन बच्चों के अंदर एक देश व देशभक्त दिखाई देता है।
*देशभक्ति करिकुलम की यह ताकत है कि बच्चे बाहर से गिरे कचरे को साफ़ तो कर ही रहे हैं, साथ ही जो कचरा उनके दिमाग में गिराया जा रहा है, उसे भी साफ कर रहे हैं- मनीष सिसोदिया*
डिप्टी सीएम मनीष सिसोदिया ने अपने स्कूल विजिट के दौरान एक 7 क्लास की बच्ची के साथ हुई बातचीत को साझा करते हुए कहा कि जब मैंने उस बच्ची से देशभक्ति पाठ्यक्रम के बारे में पूछा तो उस बच्ची ने बताया कि देशभक्ति पाठ्यक्रम से उसके अंदर देश के प्रति भावना जगी और साथ-साथ दिमाग से नकारात्मक विचार भी साफ़ हो गए। उन्होंने कहा कि देशभक्ति पाठ्यक्रम की यह ताकत है कि बच्चे बाहर से गिरे कचरे को साफ़ तो कर ही रहे हैं, साथ ही जो कचरा उनके दिमाग में गिराया जा रहा है, उसे भी साफ कर रहे हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि स्कूलों के दौरे के दौरान उन्होंने 11वीं और 12वीं कक्षा के छात्रों से पूछा था कि क्या सरकार को उनके लिए देशभक्ति कक्षाएं बंद करनी चाहिए या जारी रखनी चाहिए, क्योंकि यह उनके लिए परीक्षा और प्रतियोगिताओं की तैयारी के लिए एक महत्वपूर्ण समय है। लेकिन यह बड़े गर्व की बात है कि छात्रों ने इसका जबाव नहीं में दिया। उन्होंने कहा कि वे देशभक्ति पाठ्यक्रम की कक्षाओं को जारी रखना चाहते हैं क्योंकि इससे उन्हें अपने देश को बेहतर ढंग से समझने और अपने लक्ष्यों के प्रति अधिक ध्यान केंद्रित करने में मदद मिल रही है। वे यह समझने में सक्षम हैं कि उनके लक्ष्य या करियर भविष्य में देश को कैसे प्रभावित करेंगे। वे देशभक्ति कक्षाओं को जारी रखना चाहते हैं, ताकि वे विश्लेषण कर सकें कि राष्ट्र निर्माण के लिए उनके करियर का उपयोग कैसे किया जा सकता है।
*छात्रों व शिक्षकों ने देशभक्ति करिकुलम के अनुभवों को किया साझा*
1- 10वीं की छात्रा वंशिका ने अपना अनुभव साझा करते हुए कहा कि मेरी एक दोस्त थी, जो मेरी जाति की नहीं थी। मेरे पैरेंट्स ने उससे बात करने के लिए मना किया, तो मुझे लगा कि मेरे पैरेंट्स सही कह रहे हैं। इसलिए मैंने उससे बात करना थोड़ा कम कर दिया। लेकिन जब मेरे टीचर ने समझाया कि जाति-पात कुछ नहीं होता है, तब मुझे लगा कि मैं देशभक्त कैसे हो सकती हूं, मैं भी तो गलत कर रही हूं। मुझे ऐसा नहीं करना चाहिए। मैंने उससे दोबारा जब बात की, तब भी मेरी मां ने मुझे मना किया। फिर मैंने अपनी मां से कहा कि जाति-पात हमने ही मनाई है। भगवान ने हमें एक जैसा बनाया है। इसलिए हमें एक-दूसरे से मिलजुल कर रहना चाहिए।
2- छात्रा तनीषा शर्मा ने कहा कि देशभक्ति के बारे में हम पहले से सुनते आ रहे हैं कि क्या होती है। लेकिन अब हमें देशभक्ति का सही मतलब पता चल गया है। हम सोचते थे कि देशभक्ति का यही मतलब होता होगा कि कॉलेज में जाकर लड़ाई और विरोध कर रहे हैं, लेकिन अब हमें पता चला है कि हम जहां रहते हैं, अपनी सोसायटी में देशभक्ति कर सकते हैं। जैसे हम अपने घर को साफ रखते हैं, वैसे ही हमें अपने देश को साफ रखना चाहिए। हमें कूड़े को फैलाना नहीं चाहिए, बल्कि उसको सही जगह रखना चाहिए।
3- छात्रा शिवानी ने कहा कि जब से देशभक्ति पाठ्यक्रम शुरू हुआ है, उससे पहले मुझे बिल्कुल पता नहीं था कि देशभक्ति होती क्या है? जब हमारे टीचर ने हमें बताया कि देशभक्ति क्या है, तब मैंने सोचा कि मैं भी एक देशभक्त हूं, क्योंकि मुझमें भी वो सारे गुण है, जो एक देशभक्त में है। मैं अपने आसपास का एरिया साफ रखती हूं। बड़ों की बहुत इज्जत करती हूं। हमें जो देशभक्ति डायरी मिली है, उसमें 100 नाम हैं। मुझे वो सारे 100 नाम याद हैं।
4- छात्र विशाल का कहना है कि देश के लिए बलिदान और खुद को समर्णण करना देशभक्ति होती है। उन्होंने शहीद भगत सिंह की एक शायरी कहकर देशभक्ति का मतलब समझाया कि सीने में जो जख्म दिया है, वो सब फूल के गुच्छे हैं, हमें पागल ही रहने दो, हम पागल ही अच्छे हैं।
5- एकेवी शंकर नगर 9वीं से 12वी कक्षा की नोडल इंचार्ज नीतू गुलाटी ने कहा कि इस करिकुलम से बहुत ही सकारात्मक प्रभाव पड़ रहा है। बच्चो के अंदर सम्मान की भावना विकसित हो गई है। बच्चे अपनी ड्यूटी के प्रति बहुत ज्यादा जिम्मेदार हो गए हैं। छोटे बच्चों में भी बहुत बदलाव आया है। एक बच्ची ने तिरंगा बनाया था। उससे मैंने कहा कि क्या मैं देख सकती हूं, तो उस बच्ची ने कहा कि तिरंगे को ध्यान से पकड़िएगा, यह गिरना नहीं चाहिए। यह मेरे देश की शान है।
*दिल्ली सरकार के स्कूलों में देशभक्ति करिकुलम के एक साल पूरे*
दिल्ली के मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल द्वारा 28 सितंबर 2021 को शहीद भगत सिंह जी की जयंती के अवसर पर देशभक्ति करिकुलम शुरू किया गया था। देशभक्ति करिकुलम एससीईआरटी दिल्ली द्वारा विकसित किया गया है। इसे दिल्ली सरकार के सभी नर्सरी से लेकर 12वीं तक के स्कूलों और कुछ निजी स्कूलों में लागू किया गया है। इस करिकुलम के माध्यम से छात्रों को अपने विचारों और व्यवहार को प्रतिबिंबित करने का अवसर मिलता है, जो उन्हें राष्ट्र निर्माण के प्रति एक जिम्मेदार नागरिक बनाता है। देशभक्ति करिकुलम के शुभारंभ की पहली वर्षगांठ का जश्न मनाने और पिछले एक साल की शिक्षा को समेकित करने के लिए पिछले एक पखवाड़े से स्कूलों में विभिन्न गतिविधियों का आयोजन किया गया और इसका अखरी प्रोग्राम त्यागराज स्टेडियम में आज संपन्न हुआ।
*देशभक्ति करिकुलम के बारे में*
– इसे 4 ग्रुपों केजी-2, 3-5, 6-8 और 9-12 में बांटा गया है।
– यह करिकुलम दिल्ली के सभी 1047 सरकारी स्कूलों में लागू किया गया है और करीब 18 लाख विद्यार्थी लाभांवित हो रहे हैं।
– इन सरकारी स्कूलों में लगभग 36,000 शिक्षक देशभक्त कक्षाएं लेते हैं।
– यह ग्रेड केजी-8 में प्रतिदिन और ग्रेड 9-12 में सप्ताह में दो बार चलता है।
– सभी स्कूलों ने केजी-5, 6-8 और 9-12 के लिए नोडल शिक्षक (समन्वयक) नियुक्त किए हैं।
– नोडल शिक्षकों को एससीईआरटी द्वारा करिकुलम की शुरुआत से अब तक 65 घंटे का प्रशिक्षण दिया गया है।
– करिकुलम को आसान बनाने के लिए हर ग्रुप को शिक्षक नियमावली दी गई है।
– यह करिकुलम छात्रों की टेक्स्टबुक नहीं है, बल्कि यह केवल स्वतंत्रता सेनानियों की 100 कहानियों का एक संग्रह है।
– यह करिकुलम गतिविधि और चर्चा पर आधारित है, जहां प्रत्येक पाठ के अंत में छात्र सीखने पर प्रतिबिंबित करते हैं और अपना आत्मनिरीक्षण करते हैं।
– कक्षा 6-12 के छात्र एक देशभक्ति डायरी रखते हैं जिसमें वे अपने प्रतिबिंबों को नोट करते हैं।
– प्रत्येक कक्षा की शुरुआत एक देशभक्ति ध्यान से होती है, जहां किसी भी 5 देशभक्तों को याद करने और उनकी सेवा के लिए उनके प्रति कृतज्ञता व्यक्त करने के लिए ध्यान केंद्रित किया जाता है।

– इसका माइंडसेट करिकुलम के रूप में आत्म चिंतन पर ध्यान केंद्रित करना और अपने स्वयं के व्यवहार के प्रति जागरूकता पैदा करना है। यह पारंपरिक सामाजिक विज्ञान से भिन्न है जो ज्ञान देने या नैतिक विज्ञान वर्गों पर केंद्रित है जो मूल्यों का प्रचार करते हैं।

– 15 अगस्त 2019 को सीएम अरविंद केजरीवाल द्वारा इसके विजन की घोषणा की गई।
– एससीईआरटी द्वारा 12 अक्टूबर 2019 को गठित समिति की गई।
– 9 मार्च 2021 को उप मुख्यमंत्री ने ‘देशभक्ति’ बजट की घोषणा की
– 6 अगस्त 2021 को एससीईआरटी दिल्ली की गार्वनिंग काउंसिल ने देशभक्ति करिकुलम की रूपरेखा को स्वीकार किया।
– 14 अगस्त 2021 को मुख्यमंत्री ने करिकुलम की रूपरेखा को अनुमोदित किया।
– 28 सितंबर 2021 को छत्रसाल स्टेडियम में कक्षा 6-8 और 9-12 में शिक्षक नियमावली और 100 स्वतंत्रता सेनानियों की ‘हमारी देशभक्ति क्रांतिकारी’ कहानी सहित करिकुलम का शुभारंभ हुआ।
– 17 अगस्त 2022 को ग्रेड केजी-2 व 3-5 में शिक्षक नियमावली का शुभारंभ हुआ।
