Kejriwal Government’s Happiness Utsav 2022 came to a close in a grand ceremony on Friday. Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal presided over the closing ceremony held at the Thyagraj Stadium. The ceremony saw the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Shri Manish Sisodia besides an inspiring Rajyoga Meditation session by Sister BK Shivani. The closing ceremony was a unique confluence of exuberance and calm; where the CM led the students in an exhilarating participative drum performance; and the Deputy CM interacted with students and teachers about their experience of the curriculum. On this occasion, the CM said, “Delhi Government is teaching students to be better humans, devote themselves to the country and be capable enough to earn for their families. Children studying in Delhi Government’s schools will become the Prime Ministers and Chief Ministers of the future; they will become top-class doctors-engineers and lead the nation. At the same time, Sister BK Shivani said, “This is the first time that a government is running a Happiness Curriculum; we all have to pledge to take the mission forward to the world.” While Deputy CM Shri Manish Sisodia said, “We have taken the onus of making our students happier and better humans; the Happiness Curriculum is the foundation of this process.”
The Delhi Government organised Happiness Utsav 2022 to mark four years of the successful implementation of the Happiness Curriculum this month. The Closing Ceremony of the Happiness Utsav was organised at the Thyagraj Stadium on Friday. Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal presided over the closing ceremony. As part of the closing ceremony, a special session on Rajyoga Meditation was held by Sister BK Shivani for the students. At the same time, Shri Somdev Tyagi, a Prabodhak (educator) of Jeevan Vidya taught students the philosophy of harmonious coexistence. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Manish Sisodia held an interactive session with students and teachers at the stadium seeking their feedback on implementation of the program. The ceremony began with lighting of the lamp by the guest, followed by a participative drum cafe performance where the CM led the gathering into a power-packed jamming session with drums in everyone’s hands. This was followed by special sessions of Sister Shivani who went ahead to administer a pledge of happiness and contentment upon the gathering. On the occasion, Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal also shared his personal anecdotes and his relationship with mindfulness and meditation as a practice at home.
CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal began his address by thanking the guests for gracing the occasion and sharing a personal anecdote. Hesaid, “We got an opportunity to hear a wonderful message given by Sister B K Shivani and I feel very happy. Previously, we listened to Som Bhaiji. I told Sister Shivani that everyone in my family is her fan. Whenever her program is airing on the television, we all get glued to the TV set, especially my parents. Even if the program is two hours long, we sit till the end. However, I have a small complaint with Sister Shivani. When I finish my day after attending all the meetings, I spend half-an-hour to forty-five minutes with my parents. It is not possible everyday. Yesterday itself, I worked till late as meetings got over at 11:30pm and my parents slept by then. However, I try my best to make myself available for them. But when I go to their room to talk to them and Sister Shivani’s program is airing, they make me sit and watch her program. I like her programs and watch them with complete attention but I feel jealous from inside because they love her more than they love me.
He highlighted the role of meditation in his life. He added, “My bond with Som Bhai is very old. In the initial days of my activism, I used to go for Vipassana meditation. I was very fond of Vipassana meditation while Shri Manish Sisodia used to go for both Vipassana and Jeevan Vidya. He told me how much he has benefitted from Vipassana. I never got a chance to do Jeevan Vidya but I will definitely go one day. I welcome both of them from the bottom of my heart.”
He talked about the uninspiring state of education in government schools when his party came to power. He continued, “It’s been four years since we are running Happiness classes. As Shri Manish Sisodia told us about our journey of education revolution in Delhi, it has three phases. In the initial days of coming into power, the condition of government schools was just like schools in every part of the country. The infrastructure was very poor and the environment was not conducive for serious studies. Results were not satisfactory. I vividly remember a line said by a primary school child. When it was said to him that children are the future of the country, he said that this is applicable on children studying in private schools. We study in government schools, we are not the future of the country. This line shocked my conscience. The same students made a statement after five years. He said that now the students of government schools are also the future of the country.”
CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal shared the meticulous planning and dedicated efforts of his government to transform education in government schools of Delhi. He said, “First step in our journey was improving the infrastructure. Buildings were dilapidated and there were no toilets or drinking water facilities. The schools were unhygienic and there were security arrangements as well. We fixed everything and gave excellent schools to the people of Delhi. Like Shri Manish Sisodia said, we have increased the education budget to 25% of the total budget of Delhi. In the past 7 years, we have spent a total of Rs 90 thousand crore in Delhi. We don’t consider this as an expense but an investment.”
The Delhi CM expressed delight at the results of the government schools. “After upgrading the infrastructure, we gave a thought on why do parents send their kids to schools? So that they can score good marks which can get them a job. So we realised that there is no point in upgrading the infrastructure if the students are not scoring good marks. We started working on that aspect. We motivated and trained the teachers and headmasters. With our succinct efforts, the students started scoring excellent marks as well. This year, 99.7% students of government schools have passed the matriculation (Class 12th) exams and have set a record in the country. When students achieved such results, we considered this as actual success because it is easier to upgrade the infrastructure. All you need is money and you can call the contractor to get the job done. People started believing in us when the results were better than private schools,” Shri Arvind Kejriwal added.
The Delhi CM gave a proof of farsightedness and adaptability of his government. He continued, “Then we set our sights to see how education was imparted in the schools. The method of rote learning is quite prevalent in the country. The students are forced to mug up everything and vomit it on their answer sheets. This had no benefits and it only increased the tension of the students. We pledged to change this system. We have to prepare all the students passing out from the schools for three things. Firstly, we have to make them a good human being. Students live in extreme stress these days. They should have peace of mind and they should have a role to play in making others a better human being. They should do this selflessly. Secondly, they should be staunch deshbhakts. Students passing out from schools should be ready to serve the Motherland with body, mind and soul. Thirdly, the students should be able to earn bread and butter after completing education. It should not be the case that they have huge degrees up till doctorate but are still searching for a job. They should get immediately employed.”
Delhi CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal stated that modern education should cater to the needs of every child. He said, “We designed our courses by keeping these three things in mind. One of those courses was the Happiness Curriculum. We wanted to ensure that every student becomes a good human being. This course has transformed thousands of lives by now. The course aims to keep the children happy and peaceful along with becoming a good human being. Peace of mind is elementary for an individual to be a good human being. We also believe that God has given a unique talent to every individual. Some people are able to identify that and some people cannot identify that. Every individual who has taken birth on this planet has a purpose in life. Meditation in Happiness classes helps the children in identifying their talent.”
He shared the instances of change brought in the lives of children through the Happiness Curriculum. He added, “I read statements of various children. One of them is a student named Tushant, an 11 year old child in 6th standard. Both of his parents are working professionals. His father is a teacher and mother is also employed. He has a younger sister. He has to take care of her after going home from school. He was a shy kid who used to sit at the back. Even in the house, he used to be quiet and did not participate in any activity. Happiness teacher noticed that one day, they conducted a dancing and singing activity, he opened up unexpectedly and he has been progressing very fast ever since. He is an extrovert child and he has developed extraordinary leadership qualities. He is the leader of his class.”
The Delhi CM said that the curriculum is bringing a positive shift in the mindset. He added, “Under the Happiness Curriculum, 18 lakh students take part in happiness classes simultaneously. The schools start at the same time and the first period is of happiness classes. They start their day with happiness classes which are having a positive impact. The environment of the schools is filled with such positive vibrations which doesn’t remain confined within the boundary walls of the schools and spread over entire Delhi. Students have experienced a positive change in their lives and only the degree of happiness may differ.”
Shri Arvind Kejriwal expressed concern on rising pressure on the children at a tender age from all sides. He said, “In today’s time, students face immense pressure, especially academic pressure. Parents have also put a lot of pressure if their results are not up to the mark. They even compare their performance with other students who score good marks. This pressure has resulted in suicides committed by students in such a young age. Happiness classes changed that as well.”
He said that happiness classes are making students confident about their future as well. “We also started entrepreneur classes which have done wonders in eliminating academic pressure. Earlier, the students were under extreme pressure that if they are unable to secure good marks, they won’t get a job or get admission in a good course. Now, the students have got so much confidence because of these classes that they say that they will start their business if they don’t score good marks. These classes have reduced academic pressure to a significant extent,” The Delhi CM added.
CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal said “Students also face peer pressure as they are very conscious about what other students and their friends think about them. Sometimes, this peer pressure get increased to an extent that many students commit suicide because of it. Thirdly, there is a lot of family pressure on the children. Our students come from various backgrounds and some of them have a lot of problems in their home. I was listening to a girl named Upeksha, a 13 year old girl studying in 8th standard. Her father is a plumber and her mother is bedridden. She has four siblings. The entire responsibility of the house is on her. She finishes the entire work before coming to school, attends classes and again goes back to home to do household chores. She has to take care of her mother as well as her siblings. Such students have immersion stress because of the family and happiness classes help in eliminating this stress. We have observed that suicides are committed in entire country. I am extremely thankful to God that such incidents don’t take place in Delhi and its credit goes to happiness classes because it has strengthened the mental balance of the children.”
He expressed satisfaction on the fact that the entire world is impressed with the inclusion of this course in the curriculum. “Happiness is of utmost importance in life, no matter what happens. Happiness classes are keeping the students happy which cannot be purchased by the entire wealth of the world. Wife of the US President and First lady of the US came to visit our happiness classes. She planned to spend half-an-hour but instead, she attended the classes for one and half hours. There is a saying that when we came to the world, we were crying and the entire world was laughing. When a newborn takes birth, they have to cry to ensure that lungs are working properly. The moment a newborn cries, everybody gets happy that the newborn is healthy. We have to do such work that when we die and leave the world, we should be laughing and the entire world should cry for us,” he said.
CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal concluded, “We are inculcating such values in our students that they will give a bright future to the country. In future, one of those kids will become the Chief Minister of Delhi and the Prime Minister of the country. Some of them will become doctors and engineers. They will run the country. We have to give them such upbringing that they spread the message of love and not hate. They should give such an environment that India can become the best country in the world.”
Deputy Chief Minister Shri Manish Sisodia said that from the year 2015, Delhi Government started working on education and since then the education budget has been about 25% of the annual budget. “But it is not just about the budget but the work that is being done with this budget. We worked to change the infrastructure of our schools. Built new schools, classrooms and renovated the dilapidated old school buildings. Not only did our schools become great but the academic results also improved overtime. Children from poor families studying in our schools started getting selected for IIT, NEET,” he said.
Shri Manish Sisodia mentioned that all these changes were visible in only 3 years because the Chief Minister sets very high quality standards. “The CM believed after the schools become better, the results have to become great, but our entry into politics will be successful only if the children coming out of our schools will be good human beings.”
The Deputy Chief Minister said that on the orders of the Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal, the government started working on it and started studying the global models of education to understand the work on social-emotional learning. “In our study, we found that the initiative in the form of the Happiness Curriculum, that has been taken in India to make people better human beings has not been done anywhere else before. He said that we have a solution to make people better human beings but we did not teach it to our children through education and always thought that these children would learn it on their own. We taught science, maths, language to children in schools, taught them to be scientists, taught them to be good doctor-engineers, but did not teach them to be a good person and to be happy. But we accepted this as a challenge and took the responsibility that we will teach the children coming out of our schools to be happy, make them good human beings, for this we made the basis of the Happiness Curriculum,” he said.
Shri Manish Sisodia said that the Delhi Government is not teaching any theory to children through Happiness classes. Here children are taught to be happy through discussions, stories, activities and most importantly mindfulness. He said, “I am proud and happy that every day 18 lakh children studying in Delhi government schools start their day with mindfulness. This has not only brought a change in the personality of children but also brought a positive change in the school environment. People from all over the world are coming to see it and learn from it.”
He concluded, “on the basis of this curriculum and practices, we aim to prepare good professionals as well as good human beings. In Delhi, we have taken this responsibility, now the education system of the country and the world needs to take this responsibility. The day the whole world’s education system will take this responsibility, from that day every person in the world will learn to be happy.”

The closing ceremony began with a Drum Cafe performance. CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal and Deputy CM Shri Manish Sisodia also played drums with the Drum Cafe team. Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal appeared in a musical avatar for the first time. He had never been seen in such an avatar before. He was completely immersed in drum beats. Along with him, the dignitaries present in the stadium also played drums and gave full support to the drum team. Everyone had a look of joy on their faces while playing the drums.
*Teachers of Punjab Government became special guests of Happiness Utsav*
Many dignitaries participated in the Happiness Utsav organised at Thyagaraj Stadium. 170 teachers and officials of Punjab Government also participated in it. These teachers had attended the Happiness Utsav program as guests of the government.
*Sister BK Shivani gave students the mantra to be happy*
There was also a meditation session during this. Rajyoga meditation teacher Sister BK Shivani taught meditation to all those present and asked them to spread the mantra of happiness. She mentioned that the Delhi Government is implementing this programme and taking the emotional wellbeing of the kids in consideration for the first time in the nation. “The Happiness programme is helping kids develop their mental fortitude and problem-solving skills. Since this is the first time a government has implemented the Happiness Program, we must try to establish it globally,” she said.
*Teachers and children share their experiences*
The kids who have been in the Happiness class for the past three to four years recounted their stories through this whole session. Anita, a student in the eighth grade, stated that because of the Happiness class, a lot has changed in her life. “Earlier I didn’t feel like doing any work, but now I feel like doing everything, and I do it all extremely well,” she said. Soni, a student in grade 8, stated that while she used to study in the past, there was anxiety, there is no such feeling now as being mindful is beneficial. Student Ridhima commented, “I feel like I am somewhere a part of the stories we learn in the classes. I use everything I’ve learnt from them in my daily life. I have gained a lot of knowledge to improve my life.” At the same time, Kiran, a teacher, stated that each activity and tale was highly fascinating. “I observed a lot of change in myself while teaching students. While instructing our kids, we too have gained a lot of knowledge,” she said.
*Vision behind Happiness Utsav-2022*
The Happiness Utsav is a first-of-its-kind fiesta dedicated to celebrating happiness in one’s life. It marks four years of implementation of the Happiness Curriculum in Delhi. The Happiness Curriculum was launched in 2018 with the idea of teaching students to be happier beings. Under the Utsav, 8 lakh students took the teachings of happiness curriculum to 40 lakh Delhiites. Their aim was to create an atmosphere of joy in schools, opening post lockdown. The Utsav was celebrated in schools for 3 weeks where each week followed one key component of the curriculum, i.e, mindfulness, stories & activities. There were special sessions for students on Happiness by Shri Gaur Gopal Das, Sister BK Shivani & Shri Somdev Tyagi The Happiness Utsav may be ending today, but students of Delhi Government Schools have accepted the mission of spreading Happiness with open-arms. With the society learning to live better lives, success of this curriculum will forever reflect in the lives of Delhiites
*About Sister BK Shivani*
BK Shivani has been a practitioner and a teacher of Rajyoga Meditation that is at the heart of the teachings of Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual Organisation, since 1996. She holds an Electronics Engineering degree from the Pune University, India. Her show Awakening With Brahma Kumaris, first aired in 2007, has empowered a diverse and global audience from all walks of life. दिल्ली सरकार के हैप्पीनेस पाठ्यक्रम को चार वर्ष पूरे होने पर त्यागराज स्टेडियम में आयोजित हैप्पीनेस उत्सव का आज समापन हो गया। इस दौरान राजयोग मेटिटेशन की शिक्षिका बीके शिवानी ने सबको खुश रहने का मंत्र दिया। समारोह के मुख्य अतिथि सीएम अरविंद केजरीवाल ने कहा कि हम स्कूलों में बच्चों को कट्टर देशभक्त बना रहे हैं, जो आने वाले समय में देश में नफरत नहीं, प्यार का पैगाम फैलाएंगे। हम अपने स्कूलों में बच्चों को अच्छा इंसान, कट्टर देशभक्त और कम से कम अपना पेट पालने के योग्य बनना सिखा रहे हैं। स्कूलों में पढ़ रहे हमारे बच्चे देश का भविष्य हैं। कल देश का प्रधानमंत्री, मुख्यमंत्री, मंत्री, डॉक्टर और इंजीनियर इन्हीं बच्चों में से निकलेंगे। हमारे स्कूलों से निकलने वाले बच्चे देश को एक अच्छा वातावरण दें, ताकि हमारा देश दुनिया का नंबर वन देश बन सके। सीएम अरविंद केजरीवाल ने कहा कि हैप्पीनेस क्लास बच्चों को वह खुशी दे रही है, जिसे दुनिया की सारी दौलत मिलकर भी नहीं खरीद सकती। आज बच्चों के उपर एकेडमिक, साथियों और परिवार का इतना दबाव होता है कि उस वजह से कई बच्चे आत्महत्या कर लेते हैं। हैप्पीनेस और आंत्रप्रिन्योरशिप क्लास बच्चों के उपर से दबाव खत्म करने में मदद कर रहा है और उनको आत्मविश्वास दे रहा है। वहीं, डिप्टी सीएम मनीष सिसोदिया ने कहा कि हमने अपने स्कूलों के बच्चों को खुश रहने और अच्छा इंसान बनाने की जिम्मेदारी ली है और इसके लिए हैप्पीनेस करिकुलम को आधार बनाया है।
मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल ने आज दिल्ली सरकार के हैप्पीनेस पाठ्यक्रम को चार वर्ष पूरे होने के अवसर पर हैप्पीनेस उत्सव-2022 के समापन समारोह में भाग लिया। दिल्ली के त्यागराज स्टेडियम में आयोजित समापन समारोह का शुभारम्भ सुबह 11 बजे हुआ। मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल, उपमुख्यमंत्री मनीष सिसोदिया ने अन्य गणमान्य लोगों के साथ दीप प्रज्वलित कर समापन समारोह का शुभारम्भ किया। कार्यक्रम की शुरूआत में एक इंपैक्ट वीडियो भी प्रदर्शित की गई, जिसमें बच्चे अपने अनुभवों को साझा करते दिखे। इस अवसर पर सेक्रेटरी (शिक्षा विभाग) अशोक कुमार, जीवन विद्या के प्रबोधक सोम त्यागी, राजयोग मेडिटेशन की शिक्षिका बीके शिवानी, शिक्षा निदेशक हिमांशु गुप्ता समेत अन्य गणमान्य लोग मौजूद रहे।
*जब दिल्ली में हमारी सरकार बनी थी, तब जैसे पूरे देश में सरकारी स्कूलों का बुरा हाल है, वैसे ही दिल्ली में भी बुरा हाल था- अरविंद केजरीवाल*
सीएम अरविंद केजरीवाल ने समापन समारोह को संबोधित करते हुए कहा कि हमें हैप्पीनेस कार्यक्रम चलाते हुए चार साल हो गए। डिप्टी सीएम मनीष सिसोदिया का हवाला देते हुए उन्होंने कहा कि दिल्ली के अंदर हमारी शिक्षा क्रांति की जो यात्रा है, उसके मोटे तौर पर तीन चरण है। जब हमारी दिल्ली में सरकार बनी थी, तब जैसे पूरे देश भर में सरकारी स्कूलों का बुरा हाल है, वैसे ही दिल्ली में भी बुरा हाल था। सरकारी स्कूलों में बुनियादी सुविधाएं नहीं थीं। पढ़ाई का माहौल नहीं था। परिणाम भी अच्छे नहीं आते थे। मेरे को अभी भी एक सरकारी स्कूल के छोटे से बच्चे की बात याद है। जब उससे पूछा गया कि बच्चे तो देश का भविष्य होते हैं, तो वो बच्चा बोला कि वो तो प्राइवेट स्कूल वाले बच्चे होते हैं, हम तो सरकारी स्कूल में पढ़ते हैं। हम देश का भविष्य नहीं हैं। यह बड़ा मार्मिंक वाक्य था। उसी बच्चे का पांच साल के बाद हमने वक्तव्य देखा। जब वो बच्चा कह रहा था कि हम भी अब इस देश का भविष्य हैं। सरकारी स्कूलों के बच्चे भी इस देश के भविष्य हैं।
*हम लोगों ने शिक्षकों को ट्रेनिंग दी और पिछले साल सरकारी स्कूलों के 12वीं के नतीजे 99.7 फीसद आए, जो देश में एक इतिहास है- अरविंद केजरीवाल*
सीएम अरविंद केजरीवाल ने कहा कि हम लोगों ने शिक्षा क्रांति की यात्रा में सबसे पहले इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर को ठीक किया। बिल्डिंग्स टूटी हुई थीं। टॉयलेट्स नहीं थे। पीने का पानी नहीं था, सफाई नहीं थी। स्कूलों में सुरक्षा नहीं था। हमने बिल्डिंग्स अच्छी बनाई। सुरक्षा को ठीक किया। पीने के पानी और टॉयलेट्स का इंतजाम किया। जबसे हमारी सरकार बनी है, तब से दिल्ली सरकार के कुल बजट का करीब 25 फीसद बजट हम शिक्षा पर खर्च कर रहे हैं। पिछले सात साल में अभी तक हम लोग दिल्ली में शिक्षा व्यवस्था के उपर करीब 90 हजार करोड़ रुपए खर्च कर चुके हैं। यह 90 हजार करोड़ रुपए खर्चा नहीं है, बल्कि यह बहुत बड़ा निवेश है। माता-पिता अपने बच्चे को स्कूल में इसलिए भेजते हैं कि उनके बच्चे का नंबर अच्छे आने चाहिए। नंबर अच्छे आएंगे तो कहीं अच्छी नौकरी मिल जाएगी। अगर हमने स्कूल अच्छा कर दिया और शिक्षकों का इंतजाम भी कर दिया, लेकिन बच्चों के नंबर अच्छे नहीं आएंगे, तो क्या फायदा हुआ। इसलिए हम लोगों ने शिक्षकों के उपर काम किया। शिक्षको को मोटिवेट किया, उनको ट्रेनिंग दी और नंबर भी अच्छे आने लगे। पिछले साल दिल्ली सरकार के स्कूलों के 12वीं के नतीजे 99.7 फीसद आए, जो देश के अंदर एक इतिहास है। जब बच्चों के नंबर अच्छे आने लगे और प्राइवेट स्कूलों से ज्यादा नंबर आने लगे, तो लोगों को लगा कि ठीक है।
*हैप्पीनेस क्लास की मदद से हम स्कूलों से निकलने वाले हर बच्चे को अच्छा इंसान बना रहे हैं और इससे हजारों जिंदगियां बदल रही हैं- अरविंद केजरीवाल*
सीएम अरविंद केजरीवाल ने कहा कि हम लोगों ने समझने की कोशिश की कि हम स्कूलों के अंदर पढ़ा क्या रहे हैं? रट लो और परीक्षा में सारा उल्ला करके आ जाओ। इससे क्या फायदा है? हमें इस सिस्टम को बदलना है और यह रट्टा सिस्टम खत्म करना है। हमारे स्कूलों से जितने भी बच्चे निकल रहे हैं, उनको तीन चीजों के लिए तैयार करना है। पहला, अच्छा इंसान बनना है। आज हमारे स्कूलों से जो बच्चे निकलते हैं, वो इतनी टेंशन में जीते हैं। इसलिए पहली चीज कि बच्चों को अच्छा इंसान बनाना है। अपनी भी शांति रखनी है और दूसरों के लिए निःस्वार्स्थ भाव से काम करना है। दूसरा, कट्टर देशभक्त होना चाहिए। जो बच्चा स्कूल से निकले, उसे अपनी मातृभूमि के लिए तन-मन-धन सबकुछ न्यौछावर करने के लिए तैयार होना चाहिए। तीसरा, शिक्षा पूरी करने के बाद बच्चा कम से कम अपना पेट पालने के लिए तो तैयार होना चाहिए। ऐसा न हो कि बीए, एमए, एलएलबी, एलएलएम, डॉक्टरेट और बड़ी-बड़ी डिग्री कर ली और उसके बाद नौकरी ढूढ रहे हैं और नौकरी मिल नहीं रही है। घर में सब नाराज और दुखी हैं। इन तीनों बातों को ध्यान में रखते हुए हमने कई कोर्स डिजाइन किया और उसमें से एक कोर्स हैप्पीनेस करिकुलम था कि हम स्कूल से निकलने वाले हर बच्चे को अच्छा इंसान बनाएंगे। हैप्पीनेस कोर्स की वजह से हजारों जिंदगियां बदल रही हैं।
*दिल्ली में प्रतिदिन एक ही वक्त में 18 लाख बच्चे हैप्पीनेस क्लास करते हैं, उन पर इसका कुछ तो अच्छा असर अवश्य पड़ेगा- अरविंद केजरीवाल*
सीएम अरविंद केजरीवाल ने कहा कि हैप्पीनेस करिकुलम का मकसद यह है कि बच्चे खुश रहें और अच्छा इंसान बनें। बच्चे की खुशी बहुत महत्वपूर्ण है। अगर वो अंदर से खुश हैं, तभी अच्छा इंसान बनेंगे। इसका यह भी मकसद है कि भगवान ने पृथ्वी पर जिसको भी बनाया है, हर एक के अंदर कुछ न कुछ प्रतिभा दी है। कुछ लोग उसको पहचान लेते हैं और कुछ लोग नहीं पहचान पाते हैं। इस पृथ्वी पर आने वाले हर इंसान का कुछ न कुछ तो मकसद है। मुझे लगता है कि जब बच्चे मेडिटेशन करते हैं और हैप्पीनेस क्लास मे जाते हैं, तो उनको अपनी प्रतिभा पहचानने में मदद मिलती है। सीएम अरविंद केजरीवाल ने छठीं में पढ़ने वाले 11वर्षीय छात्र तुशांत का उदाहरण देते हुए कहा कि उसके माता-पिता दोनों कामकाजी हैं। उसके पिता कहीं शिक्षक हैं और मां भी कहीं काम करती हैं। घर में छोटी बहन है। वो स्कूल से जब घर जाता है, तो उसको अपनी बहन का ध्यान रखना पड़ता है। वो बहुत अपने में रहता था। बैकवेंचर था और पीछे बैठा करता था। उसके माता-पिता ने बताया कि घर में भी वो चुप-चुप रहता था और किसी चीज में भाग नहीं लेता था। हैप्पीनेस क्लास जब शुरू हुई, तो हैप्पीनेस शिक्षक ने लिखा है कि एक जब हम लोगों ने डांसिंग और सिंगिंग किया, तो अचानक उस बच्चे के अंदर कुछ हुआ और वो बच्चा उसके बाद से बहुत तेजी से विकास करने लगा। उसके अंदर एक गजब की लीडरशिप क्वालिटी निकल कर आई है और वो पूरी क्लास का लीडर बनता गया। सुबह-सुबह जब एक साथ सभी स्कूल खूलते हैं, तो एक ही वक्त में पहला पीरियड हैप्पीनेस का होता है। दिल्ली के अंदर 18 लाख बच्चे एक ही वक्त में प्रतिदिन हैप्पीनेस क्लास कर रहे होते हैं। उन पर कुछ तो अच्छा असर अवश्य पड़ेगा। यह हैप्पीनेस क्लास इन 18 लाख बच्चों की जिंदगी में कुछ न कुछ असर अवश्यक कर रही है। किसी को ज्यादा फायदा होता है, तो किसी को कम फायदा होता है।

मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल ने कहा कि आज एक बच्चे के उपर इतना ज्यादा दबाव है। खासकर एकेडमिक दवाब ज्यादा है। आज प्रतियोगिता अधिक हो गई है। मा-बाप का दबाव है। वो फेल हो गया या नंबर कम आते हैं। इस दवाब में कई बच्चे आत्महत्या कर लेते हैं। हमने आंत्रप्रिन्योरशिप क्लास शुरू की है। उसका भी एकेडमिक दबाव खत्म करने में बहुत अच्छा असर हो रहा है। पहले बच्चे बहुत टेंशन में होते थे कि नंबर अच्छे नहीं आए, तो नौकरी नहीं मिलेगी। अच्छे कोर्स में एडमिशन नहीं होगा, कहीं कालेज में एडमिशन नहीं मिलेगा। हमने कई बच्चों के वीडियो देखे हैं, जिसमें बच्चे कहते हैं कि नंबर कम आए, तो कोई बात नहीं, मैं अपना बिजनेस कर लूंगा। आंत्रप्रिन्योरशिप क्लास के जरिए बच्चों के अंदर आत्मविश्वास आ रहा है कि नंबर अच्छे नहीं आए, तो कोई बात नहीं, मैं अपना बिजनेस कर लूंगा। आंत्रप्रिन्योरशिप क्लास बच्चों के अंदर आत्मविश्वास दे रहा है। बच्चों के उपर साथियों का दबाव बहुत होता है कि मेरे दोस्ते मेरे बारे में क्या सोच रहे हैं? कई बार वो दबाव इतना ज्यादा हो जाता है कि कई बच्चे उस वजह से आत्महत्या कर लेते हैं। तीसरा, परिवार का दवाब होता है। सीएम अरविंद केजरीवाल ने 13 वर्षीय एक लड़की उपेक्षा का उदाहरण देते हुए कहा कि उपेक्षा 8वीं में पढ़ती है। उसके पिता प्लंबर का काम करते हैं। उसकी मां बहुत बीमार रहती है। वह पांच भाई-बहन हैं। घर का सारा काम करने की जिम्मेदारी उपेक्षा की है। फिर वो स्कूल आती है और फिर घर जाकर सारे काम करती है। उसको अपनी मां और भाई-बहनों का भी ध्यान रखना पड़ता है। इन स्कूलों के अंदर ऐसे पृष्ठभूमि के बच्चे आते हैं। उन पर परिवार की इतनी टेंशन होती है। इन सारी टेंशन को दूर करने में हैप्पीनेस क्लासेज मदद कर रही है।

सीएम श्री अरविंद केजरीवाल ने कहा कि हम पूरे देश में देख रहे हैं कि जगह-जगह आत्महत्या हो रहे हैं। मैं भगवान का शुक्रगुजार हूं कि दिल्ली के अंदर इस किस्म का कोई वाक्या नहीं सुना है। इसके लिए मैं इन हैप्पीनेस क्लास को बहुत बड़ा श्रेय देता हूं कि बच्चे मानसिक रूप से संतुलित हैं। जिंदगी में कुछ भी हो, लेकिन खुशी सबसे जरूरी है। मैं समझता हूं कि यह हैप्पीनेस क्लास बच्चों को जो खुशी दे रही है, दुनिया की सारी दौलत मिलकर भी इस खुशी को नहीं खरीद सकती। अमेरिका की तत्कालीन राष्ट्रपति की धर्मपत्नी भी हमारी हैप्पीनेस क्लास को अटेंड करने के लिए आई थीं। वो सिर्फ आधे घंटे के लिए आईं और डेढ़ घंटे तक क्लास को अटेंड करने के बाद गईं। वो भी कुछ हैप्पीनेस हमारे यहां से लेकर गई थीं। एक कहावत है, ‘‘जब हम इस पृथ्वी पर आए थे, तो हम रो रहे थे और सारी दुनिया हम पर हस रही थी।’’ जब बच्चा जन्म लेता है, तो सबसे पहले उसको रूलाना होता है। अगर वो न रोए तो फिर यह होता है कि उसका फेफड़ा चल रहा है कि नहीं चल रहा है। जैसे ही बच्चा जोर से रोता है, तो सारे लोग खुश होते हैं कि बच्चा ठीक है। इसलिए हम ऐसा काम करके जाएं कि हम हस रहे हों और सारी दुनिया हम पर रो रही हो। वो संस्कार इन हैप्पीनेस क्लास में दिए जा रहे हैं। आज हमारे स्कूलों में जो बच्चे पढ़ रहे हैं, ये देश का भविष्य हैं। कल दिल्ली का मुख्यमंत्री इन्हीं बच्चों में से निकलेगा। कल देश का प्रधानमंत्री इन्हीं बच्चों में से निकलेगा। कल मंत्री, डॉक्टर, इंजीनियर इन्हीं बच्चों में से निकलेगा। देश को इन्हीं बच्चों को संभालना है। हम ऐसे बच्चे तैयार करना चाहते हैं, जो आने वाले समय में देश में नफरत नहीं, प्यार और मोहब्बत का पैगाम फैलाएं। जो आने वाले समय में देश को एक अच्छा वातावरण दें, ताकि हमारा देश दुनिया का नंबर वन देश बन सके।
*2015 से हमने शिक्षा पर काम करना शुरू किया, आज हमारे स्कूल न सिर्फ शानदार हुए हैं, बल्कि रिजल्ट भी शानदार आ रहे हैं- मनीष सिसोदिया*
इस अवसर पर उपमुख्यमंत्री श्री मनीष सिसोदिया ने कहा कि साल 2015 से हमने शिक्षा पर काम करना शुरू किया और पिछले 7 सालों से लगातार हमारा शिक्षा का बजट कुल बजट का लगभग 25 फीसद रहा है। लेकिन बात केवल बजट की नहीं, काम करने की भी है। हमनें अपने स्कूलों की रंगत को बदलने का काम किया। मकड़ी के जाल लगे जर्जर स्कूलों की इमारतों को शानदार बनाया। न केवल हमारे स्कूल शानदार हुए, बल्कि रिजल्ट भी शानदार हुए और हमारे स्कूलों में पढ़ने वाले गरीब परिवारों के बच्चे भी आईआईटी, नीट के लिए चयनित होने लगे। उन्होंने कहा कि ये सब बदलाव तीन सालों में ही दिखने लगे, लेकिन हमारे मुख्यमंत्री जी ने बेहद ऊंचे क्वालिटी स्टैंडर्डस स्थापित कर रखे है। उनका मानना है कि स्कूल बेहतर हो गए, रिजल्ट शानदार हो गए, लेकिन जबतक हमारे स्कूलों से बच्चे अच्छे इंसान बनकर न निकलें तब तक हमारा राजनीति में आना सफल नहीं होगा। मुख्यमंत्री जी के आदेश पर हमने इस पर काम करना शुरु कर दिया औऱ देश-दुनिया में जहां भी मेन्टल-इमोशनल वेल-बींग पर काम हो रहा है, उस पर स्टडी करना शुरू कर दिया। अपनी स्टडी में हमने पाया कि भारत में सदियों पहले लोगों को बेहतर इंसान बनाने का जो रिसर्च हुआ है, वो पहले कहीं और नहीं हुआ। उन्होंने कहा कि हमारे पास लोगों को बेहतर इंसान बनाने का समाधान तो है लेकिन उसे हमें शिक्षा के माध्यम से बच्चों को नहीं सिखाया और हमेशा यही सोचा कि ये तो बच्चे अपने आप सीख जाएंगे।

हमने स्कूलों में बच्चों को साइंस, मैथ, लैंग्वेज पढ़ाया, उन्हें वैज्ञानिक बनना सिखाया, अच्छे डॉक्टर- इंजीनियर बनना सिखाया, लेकिन खुश रहना, अच्छा इंसान बनना नहीं सिखाया। लेकिन हमने इसे शिक्षा पद्धति में स्वीकार्य बनाया और यह जिम्मेदारी ली कि अपने स्कूलों से निकलने वाले बच्चों को खुश रहना भी सिखाएंगे, उन्हें अच्छा इंसान बनाएंगे इसके लिए हमने हैप्पीनेस करिकुलम को आधार बनाया। उन्होंने कहा कि हम हैप्पीनेस के माध्यम से बच्चों को कोई थ्योरी नहीं पढ़ा रहे है। यहां चर्चाओं, कहानियों, एक्टिविटीज के माध्यम से बच्चों को खुश रहना सिखाया जाता है और इसका एक सबसे महत्वपूर्ण हिस्सा माइंडफुलनेस है। उन्होंने कहा कि मुझे गर्व और खुशी है कि रोजाना दिल्ली सरकार के स्कूलों में पढ़ने वाले 18 लाख बच्चे माइंडफुलनेस के साथ अपने दिन की शुरुआत करते है। इससे न केवल बच्चों में बदलाव आया, बल्कि स्कूल के वातावरण में भी सकारात्मक बदलाव आया। इसे देखने और इससे सीखने के लिए देश-दुनिया से लोग आ रहे है। डिप्टी सीएम मनीष सिसोदिया ने कहा कि हमारा मकसद अच्छे प्रोफेशनल्स के साथ-साथ अच्छे इंसान भी बनाना है। दिल्ली में हमने यह जिम्मेदारी ली है, अब देश और दुनिया की शिक्षा व्यवस्था को इस जिम्मेदारी को लेने की जरूरत है। जिस दिन पूरे विश्व की शिक्षा व्यवस्था ने यह जिम्मेदारी लेगी, उस दिन से विश्व का हर व्यक्ति खुश रहना सीख जाएगा।

समापन समारोह की शुरूआत ड्रम कैफे परफार्मेंस के साथ हुई। इस दौरान सीएम अरविंद केजरीवाल और डिप्टी सीएम मनीष सिसोदिया ने भी ड्रम कैफे टीम के साथ ड्रम बजाया। मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल पहली बार म्युजिकल अवतार में दिखे। इससे पहले कभी उन्हें इस अवतार में नहीं देखा गया था। वो पूरी तरह से तल्लीन होकर ड्रम म्युजिक में डूब गए थे। उनके साथ स्टेडियम में मौजूद प्रमुख लोगों ने भी ड्रम बजाया और ड्रम टीम का पूरा साथ दिया। ड्रम बजाते वक्त सभी के चेहरे पर खुशी झलक रही थी।
*पंजाब सरकार के शिक्षक हैप्पीनेस उत्सव के बने विशेष मेहमान*
त्यागराज स्टेडियम में आयोजित हैप्पीनेस उत्सव में कई गणमान्य लोगों ने हिस्सा लिया। इसमें पंजाब सरकार के 170 शिक्षकों और अधिकारियों ने भी हिस्सा लिया। यह शिक्षक हैप्पीनेस उत्सव कार्यक्रम में मेहमान के तौर पर शामिल हुए थे। डिप्टी सीएम मनीष सिसोदिया ने उनका स्वागत करते हुए कहा कि कल मेरा पंजाब से आए शिक्षकों से संवाद हुआ था। आज इस हैप्पीनेस उत्सव में हमारे विशेष मेहमान हैं। उनका तहे दिल से स्वागत करता हूं।
*सिस्टर बीके शिवानी ने लोगों को दिया खुश रहने का मंत्र*
इस दौरान मेडिटेशन का भी एक सत्र हुआ। राजयोग मेडिटेशन की शिक्षिका सिस्टर बीके शिवानी ने सभी को मेडिटेशन सिखाया और खुश रहने का मंत्र दिया। इस दौरान उन्होंने कहा कि देश में पहली बार दिल्ली सरकार इस तरह का कोई कायक्रम कर रही है और बच्चों के मानसिक उत्थान के बारे में सोच रही है। हैप्पीनेस कार्यक्रम की वजह से बच्चे समस्याओं से जूझना और मानसिक रूप से खुद को मजबूत होना सिख रहे हैं। यह पहली बार है कि कोई सरकार हैप्पीनेस कार्यक्रम चला रही है, हमें यह सकल्प लेना है कि इसको पूरे विश्व में लेकर जाना है। आखिर में उन्होंने सभी से संकल्प कराया, ‘‘मैं सदा खुश हूं। मैं सदा शांत हूं। शांति मेरा संस्कार है। मैं निडर हूं, निर्भय हूं। मैं सबको देने वाला हूं, देना मेरा संस्कार हैं। मेरा मन सदा स्वस्थ, शरीर सदा स्वस्थ, रिश्ते हमेशा मधुर, सफलता मेरे लिए निश्चित है। खुशी मेरा स्वभाव है। खुशी मेरा संस्कार है। खुशी मेरा संसार है।’’
*शिक्षकों और बच्चों ने साझा किए अपने अनुभव*
इस दौरान पिछले तीन-चार से हैप्पीनेस क्लास ले रहे बच्चों ने अपने अनुभवों को साझाा किया। 8वीं कक्षा में पढ़ने वाली छात्रा अनीता ने बताया कि मैंने हैप्पीनेस क्लास की मदद से अपने जीवन में बहुत बदलाव देखा है। जैसे कि मेरा पहले किसी काम में मन नहीं लगता था, लेकिन अब लगता है और सारे काम बहुत अच्छे से करती हूं। 8वीं छात्रा सोनी ने बताया कि मैं पहले जब पढ़ाई करती थी, तो तनाव रहता था, लेकिन अब वो चीज नहीं है। माइंडफुल बहुत अच्छी चीज है। हैप्पीनेस क्लास से हम अपने बड़ों का सम्मान करना सीखते हैं। मैं हमेशा हैप्पीनेस क्लास का इंतजार करती हूं। 8वीं का छात्र मनीष ने बताया कि पहले मुझे मोटिवेटर बनने का सपना था, लेकिन मैं चिड़चिड़ापन और गुस्सेदार बच्चा था। उससे मैं तनाव में भी रहता था कि क्या मैं मोटिवेशनर बन पाउंगा। जब हैप्पीनेस किया, तो मुझ पर प्रभाव पड़ा। मैंने कई नई चीजें सीखीं और काफी प्रभाव हुआ। छात्रा रैधेमा ने कहा कि हैप्पीनेस के तहत जो स्टोरी होती है, मुझे ऐसा लगता है कि वो स्टोरी में मैं कहीं न कहीं हूं। उससे मिलने वाली सीख को अपनी जिंदगी में उतारती हूं। अपनी जिंदगी को अच्छा बनाने के लिए बहुत सीख मिली। वहीं, शिक्षिका किरण ने बताया कि इसकी हर स्टोरी और गतिविधि बहुत रूचिकर है। पढ़ाते-पढ़ाते मैंने अपने अंदर भी बहुत बदलाव पाया। बच्चों को सिखाते-सिखाते हम भी बहुत कुछ सीख गए हैं।
*हैप्पीनेस उत्सव-2022 का विजन*
हैप्पीनेस करिकुलम-2018 में छात्रों को खुशहाल इंसान बनने के लिए सिखाने के विचार के साथ शुरू किया गया था। दिल्ली के 18 लाख छात्र हैप्पीनेस पाठ्यक्रम की शिक्षा को 40 लाख दिल्लीवासियों तक ले जाते हैं। लॉकडाउन के बाद अब पूरी क्षमता से फिर से साथ स्कूलों में खुशी का माहौल वापस लाने के लिए हैप्पीनेस क्लास शुरू की गई है। हैप्पीनेस उत्सव की शुरूआत 14 जुलाई को गौर गोपाल दास और उप मुख्यमंत्री मनीष सिसोदिया की उपस्थिति में की गई थी। यह उत्सव स्कूलों में तीन सप्ताह तक मनाया जाता था, जहां प्रत्येक सप्ताह पाठ्यक्रम के एक प्रमुख घटक का पालन किया गया। पहले सप्ताह, माइंडफुलनेस, दूसरे सप्ताह कहानियां और तिसरे सप्ताह गतिविधियां आयोजित की गईं। इसके साथ, छात्रों ने अपनी शिक्षा को अपने परिवार, पड़ोसियों और पांच अन्य लोगों तक पहुंचाया।
*सिस्टर बीके शिवानी के बारे में-*
राजयोग मेडिटेशन की शिक्षिका सिस्टर बीके शिवानी 1996 से राजयोग ध्यान की एक प्रैक्टिशनर और शिक्षिका रही हैं, जो ब्रह्मा कुमारियों के विश्व आध्यात्मिक संगठन की शिक्षाओं में से एक हैं। उन्होंने पुणे विश्वविद्यालय से इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स इंजीनियरिंग की डिग्री प्राप्त की है। 2007 में पहली बार प्रसारित उनके शो अवेकनिंग विद ब्रह्मा कुमारिज ने जीवन के सभी क्षेत्रों से विविध और वैश्विक दर्शकों को मजबूत बनाया है। 2017 से उन्हें वर्ल्ड साइकियाट्रिक एसोसिएशन द्वारा सद्भावना राजदूत के रूप में नियुक्त किया गया है। मार्च 2019 में, बीके शिवानी को मानव व्यवहार को बदलने में उनकी भूमिका के लिए प्रतिष्ठित नारी शक्ति पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया गया, जो भारत में महिलाओं के लिए सर्वाेच्च नागरिक सम्मान है। बीके शिवानी कई पुस्तकें लिख चुकी हैं और नियमित रूप से सोशल मीडिया पर 6 मिलियन से अधिक अनुयायियों के साथ बातचीत करती हैं।
*प्रबोधक सोमदेव त्यागी के बारे में-*
सोमदेव त्यागी 2000 से जीवन विद्या के प्रबोधक (शिक्षक) रहे हैं। जीवन विद्या मध्यस्थ दर्शन पर आधारित सामंजस्यपूर्ण सह-अस्तित्व का दर्शन है, जो ए. नागराज द्वारा प्रतिपादित मानव केंद्रित दर्शन है। वह मानव शिक्षा प्रणाली के माध्यम से जीवन के हर पहलू में शाश्वत सुख और समृद्धि की परंपरा को स्थापित करने के लिए समर्पित मध्यस्थ दर्शन पर आधारित अभ्युदय संस्थान के संस्थापक सदस्य भी हैं। उन्होंने पूरे भारत में समाज के विभिन्न वर्गों के साथ सात दिवसीय 200 से अधिक कार्यशालाओं का आयोजन किया है। वह पिछले 6 वर्षों से एससीईआरटी दिल्ली के साथ जुड़े हैं और उन्होंने शिक्षा मंत्री, कुलपतियों, वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों, प्रधानाचार्यों और दिल्ली सरकार के शिक्षकों सहित टीम शिक्षा के लिए जीवन विद्या शिविर का आयोजन किया है।
